I Anker MagSafe 3-in-1 Cube: Stylish but Flawed

I've been an Anker fan for a while now, owning over a dozen of their batteries. When I saw the MagSafe 3-in-1 Cube, I was immediately drawn to its sleek design. It's undoubtedly the coolest-looking Anker battery in my collection.

Unfortunately, the aesthetics are where the positives end. From the moment I plugged it in, I encountered issues. The white light turns on briefly, then promptly goes off. No amber light, no green light, just a dead charger. This is incredibly disappointing, especially considering the hefty price tag.

While my other Anker batteries work flawlessly, this one is completely useless unless it's plugged in, which defeats the purpose of a portable charger. I'm hoping Anker will stand behind their product and offer a refund or replacement.

I'm sharing this experience to warn others about this potential issue. If you're considering this charger, proceed with caution.

This product has been great! I love having it my desk to charge my phone, watch and air pods during the day while I work. The charging is fast and with everything being magnetic, it is easy to pick up the devices and go.

The only complaint I have is that every now and then, it seems to stop charging anything, and if I look at the LED on the back, it is off. If I just disconnect/reconnect the USB-C cable (charger) then it works. But this has only happened a few times in the last year.

Was looking for something that was magsafe. This was the most reliable product with great reviews. Happy to have it.

I have this (home and travel) and the copycat version from Lisen (office). The Anker cube is made with better materials, with an aluminum body and strong magnet, and it is heavier, while the Lisen is plastic and very light. The reason is shown in the difference in charge times.Though I do not have a way to measure the charging times, the Anker brand charges my devices, which seems true to listing with a 30w overall charge and 15w phone charge, while the Listen is significantly slow if charging more than one device, and I believe my phone is only charging at ~7.5w at best. The only reason I would pick a copycat version over the Anker is if you want a lighter charging unit, durability is not an issue (it stays in one place mostly), and fast charge speeds are not a selling point for you (only charge right before you go to bed).The Anker cube is a bit pricey, but it delivers on its promises. It feels and acts like a quality product, and all accessories are included.

It is very likely that I received a bad sample and that most work wonderfully well. I bought mine at an Apple store, paid 20.00 over MSRP and when I went to return it they told me to contact Anker. Anker will replace, but not refund – that is fine its their policy – my intent was to return it for a refund. Had I known apple wouldn’t stand behind it and that if I didn’t like it or it broke I was stuck with it I would not have purchased. For those considering it my advice at a minimum don’t buy it from Apple (they have now lowered the price to MSRP, but still…) and if you think you may wish to return it for a refund talk to the retailer first.
