We have discovered that some of the lithium-ion batteries used in our Anker Power Bank may pose a fire risk due to a manufacturing defect. The lithium-ion battery in the affected powerbanks can overheat, potentially causing melting of plastic components, smoke and fire hazards.
Although only a small number of batteries (a batch used in the products from January 30, 2024 to June 30, 2024) may be affected by this issue, out of an abundance of caution, we are reaching out to all customers to begin a Recall program.
You can verify the model of your Anker Power Bank by looking at the bottom of it (see image below) and confirm that it reads: Anker Power Bank, Model: A1647.
If you currently own any Anker Power Bank, please follow the below steps:
1. Store this device in a safe location.
2. Click here to verify your SN, and if it matches, please continue to fill out your product recall information.
3. Immediately stop using this product. DO NOT throw the powerbank into the trash or recycling bin. Please dispose of your device at a facility that accepts lithium batteries (see resources below).
